Brand New Engineers, organized by the European Association of Electrical Engineering Students (EESTEC LC Belgrade) for the fourteenth consecutive year, offers students a unique opportunity to gain insight into industry needs through practical tasks, aiding their career direction after graduation.
Mladen’s presentation delved into the topic of “Photonics for Machine Learning – Semiconductor Lasers Serving All-Optical Neural Networks.” Within the framework of the Fond za nauku Republike Srbije – Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia project IDEJE, ORCA-lab is actively working on developing a reservoir computer utilizing the injection of optical signals into semiconductor lasers.
This innovative approach holds promise for advancing the capabilities of optical neural networks. We’re proud to be at the forefront of research exploring the convergence of photonics and machine learning.
